Partnership is aimed at providing cloud integrated services to enterprises that want to track their assets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tech giants Microsoft announced their partnership with Dutch traffic navigating and monitoring company TomTom, to empower companies with tracking abilities on their cloud based platform Azure. This partnership, Microsoft says, seeks to provide cloud developers important geographic data across logistics, automotive, urban planning and retail industries in a bid to empower smart cities with IoT (Internet of Things).<\/div>\n

On asking why TomTom were chosen as partners, Sam George, Partner Director of Azure IoT commented:<\/p>\n

TomTom equips us with the infrastructure to provide updates quickly and incrementally to our customers, enabling us to provide the most up-to-date information. We\u2019re excited about this partnership and the benefits it will bring to our millions of Azure users as well as the impact this will have in advancing the technological future forward.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

George\u2019s thoughts were echoed by Anders Truelsen, Managing Director of BU Licensing. He added:<\/p>\n

Adding location based services to Azure will create a more fluid and flexible platform for developers to build and manage these location-aware applications.
